We usually pass the hat and take donations to benefit the Queen Anne's County Arts Council, but in this time of great need in our community,
we are giving every last dollar to Kent Island families in need.
Our last concert at Hemingway's, on July 27th, we raised $1807 to benefit Kent Island families in their time of greatest need. Once again, we'll be partnering with Kent Island Elks Post 2576 to get money directly to families who lost their homes. Please consider joining us this Thursday evening for some time with friends and family, and maybe bringing a dollar or two.
WE ARE NOT ABLE TO ACCEPT DONATIONS OF GOODS. We are able to channel donations of money only, cash or checks (made out to QACAC) work. If you would like to donate physical goods, please contact your local VFD for proper locations and details of what is needed most.
We are pleased to partner with Chesapeake College to bring the power of storytelling to the Eastern Shore. A simple story breathes life into information people want to share with each other. There is no substitute for the power, simplicity, and basic truth of the well-told story. We are all storytellers - we live our lives through a network of stories. People, crave, remember, and honor stories. Storytelling is for everyone regardless of age, demographic, or background; it brings us together. Whether they are tall tales or true tales, ancient or modern, stories have a way of bonding listeners together as they become fellow travelers on a magic carpet ride to the land of long ago and far away. Join us for an evening of mesmerizing stories and get swept away! Proceeds benefit the 2017 Inaugural Chesapeake Storytelling Festival.
