Audrey Scott is the former Maryland Republican Party Chair and has been a Maryland resident for over forty years. She has worked diligently at the local and state level to improve her community and the state. Scott holds a BA in English from Tufts University and a MA in Legislative Affairs from George Washington University. She was instrumental in establishing the Bowie Health Center in 1974, and served as Chair of the Center for 24 years. In 1976 she was elected Mayor of Bowie and served three terms, being the first woman to serve as Mayor of Maryland’s third largest city. She also served on the Prince George’s County Council; being elected as Council Vice Chair during her tenure. Her many accomplishments have been recognized with numerous awards, including Maryland Woman of Achievement and induction into the Maryland Women Hall of Fame.
